Description: The Car Controller was an exploration into alternative input devices for video games that could double as a toy. A simple toy car was equipped with two mouse sensors to measure relative speed and rotation. When paired with a video game platform (PC, iPad/iPhone, Wii, Xbox, PS3) Drifters act as a controller for its virtual representation. When used outside of digital play, like a traditional toy car, the motions of the car such as a power slide can be analyzed and appropriate sound clips such as tire screeching and engine revving are played.
